Thank you very much for giving me the chance to talk about my favourite restaurant. The name of my favourite restaurant is (say the name of the restaurant you are going to talk about) and it’s situated at the centre of the city I am currently living in. Not only I like the spacious, serene environment, tasty menus that the restaurant serves, but I have lots of memories related to this restaurant.
I remember that my parents celebrated some of my birthday parties there, our college friends arranged the get-together parties, one of my cousins’ marriage ceremony was celebrated there and similarly I attended lots of other parties at this very restaurant.
The restaurant has 3 floors and the sitting arrangement is quite nice. Paintings of famous artists have been hanging on the walls and the place is quite neat and clean. The interior decoration is charming and gorgeous feeling. The ground floor is spacious and can accommodate more than 50 cars’ parking. The front view of the restaurant is different as the place gives the impression of an urban garden.
The restaurant offers several dishes including exotic deserts, ice-creams and also offers a separate place for the kids to play and have fun. The prices are reasonable and the foods are served quickly as opposed to some other restaurants where you will have to wait for a long for your foods to appear on your table. The waiters and other staffs are friendly and welcoming. The restaurant offers Chinese, Italian, Indian, Thai, Pakistani and local menus that gives you a wide ranges and options to pick from.
The soft background music and instrumentals make the environment more enjoyable and soothing. The tables are not congested and people can chat over their personal topics without interruption. The long glass made windows offer the city view which makes the place worth visiting besides the delicious foods. The place must be a good place to be as I often found the foreign tourists visiting the restaurant. The authority lets the customers provide their feedbacks and comments on foods and the place and as I have noticed they take prompt action on a customer complaint.
In short, this is a really nice restaurant to go and enjoy the delicious meals.

I’d like to talk about a hotpot restaurant, called super hot, in my hometown. I like hotpot very much. My friend told me about the restaurant, so I went there with my sister.
The food there is very delicious. After eating there many times, I recommended it to my friends and most of them liked it too. I think the manager is very creative. Since the business is very good, sometimes customers have to wait for the tables. The manager make this waiting time more rewarding.
When the costumers have to wait for more than five minutes, they can have three plates of vegetables for free. Sometimes we feel happy if we have to wait, which is very different from the experiences in other restaurants. If you eat there, you can enjoy your drinks for a low price and you get your refills for free. I think it is very economic.
It became a very famous restaurant in my city. Now a lot of chain restaurants opened in my hometown. I think the business of this restaurant will be even better. Maybe soon, we will be able to find it in hangzhou.

1. Of all the restaurants I could tell you about, the Smiling Dragon restaurant is probably the one that I would like to talk about the most.
2. The reason for my latest visit there has to do with the fact that I wanted to introduce my foreign English teacher to some Chinese dishes.
3. The Smiling Dragon is well known for its seafood dishes. I would mention the bakes fish and fresh squid.
I always enjoy a visit the Smiling Dragon for a number of reasons. Please allow me to explain by mentioning some of them briefly.
4. Firstly, the food is of a good quality and well prepared. For example, they prepare only fresh fish, which they purchase at the fish market in Dalian.
5. Secondly, the waiting staff is always friendly, polite, and helpful. What I mean to say is that they will advise you on any specials on offer, and they tend to any need you may have swiftly and efficiently.
6. Thirdly, the restaurant is always spotlessly clean. Therefore, I never feel embarrassed to invite my family, friends, or foreigners to join me there for a meal.
7. Lastly, it is situated conveniently near the university, in a respectable neighborhood. That means that I am able to take my girlfriend there after dark, without fearing that we will be in danger on our way there and back.

1. Are there many restaurants near your home/school/university/work?
Yes there are many different restaurants and other places to but cooked food. The great thing about my neighborhood is that you can eat almost any good you like because there’re so many different foods on offer. There’s a very popular Sichuan restaurant near my work that’s always crowded with people who enjoy hot and spicy food. That’s not really my thing, so I prefer to eat at a place that specializes in noodles. It’s always a challenge trying to eat a bowl of noodles without making a mess on my clothes, but after eating some I always feel happy. In fact, there are so many places to eat near my home that I haven’t been to them all yet. I’m looking forward to trying out all the different types of food they have.
2. What different types of restaurants are there in your hometown?
My hometown is in England, so obviously the types of restaurants they have there are very different from in China. Back in England a lot of restaurants are also pubs, where you can drink beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages as well as enjoy a meal. The food in places like this is called ‘pub food’ and it usually simple, tasty and filling. Of course there are also ‘proper’ restaurants that serve all sorts of food. There are many foreign restaurants that serve Indian, Chinese, Japanese and Spanish food. England isn’t known for its delicious cooking, so we eat a lot of foreign dishes.
3. What are some of the factors that make a restaurant a good one?
When eating at a restaurant you should always feel relaxed and comfortable. The French believe that unless this is the case you will have bad digestion. Therefore it’s important for a restaurant to be a pleasant place to enjoy a meal. It helps to have a little music playing, but nothing too loud or fast-paced. Excellent service is a must in my opinion. If you have to wait for ages before your food arrives then it’s very annoying. The staff must be friendly and polite and have a good knowledge of the food on offer so they can make recommendations, and of course, the food itself should be tasty. Finally, it helps if the price is low, but if a restaurant is really good then they will of course charge a little more money.
4. Does the food in the restaurant you just talked about taste different to Western food?
Yes, very different. Even the food that you would expect to taste the same as western food, like bread, tastes strange to a westerner. Chinese bread is very sweet and floury whilst western bread is more coarse and heavy. In general Chinese food is a lot more oily and spicy too. This can be a surprise to someone who orders a dish and then discovers that it’s too hot to eat! In the west most spicy dishes are Indian curries and hot food is not that common. I think Chinese meat is absolutely delicious though because it’s cooked in small pieces you can pick up with chopsticks. This gives it a more tender flavor.
